The Spirit of the Beguines Reborn in Can Traver
The Beguines were one of the first independent women's movements of the Middle Ages, which arose between the 12th and 13th centuries in Europe. They did not take vows of obedience, chastity or poverty. Their model continues to inspire today new forms of female community that seek freedom, spirituality and self-sufficiency.
At Can Traver we want to recover the spirit of communion in a fast-paced and increasingly individualistic world. That is why we invite you to stay and live with other women in a rural neighbourhood immersed in nature, silence and tranquillity.
Our values are based on the protection of the environment, the dissemination of culture and traditions, and emotional and spiritual well-being, with Catalan as our main language. We live at the rhythm of nature and foster a community of collaboration and shared growth.
At Can Traver Neighbourhood everyone is welcome!
